Emergency Relief

Every year, all over the world, people are threatened by the consequences of extreme natural disasters, Human-made crises, Slow-onset disasters.

In countries affected by Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tropical cyclones, Flash floods, Wildfires, Forest fires, floods, Volcanic eruptions, Avalanches, Tsunamis, Drought, Landslide, violence, conflicts, political instability, and more; The impacts are devastating to human and non-human life and can cause death, injury, spread of disease, physical trauma, skin and intestinal infections, mental health problems, chest problems, undernutrition or malnutrition, displacement, pollution, environmental damage, soil erosion, siltation, landslides, property damage and economic losses, while others suffer from a lack of food, shelter, medical care and employment opportunities.

Many live in profound poverty, or find themselves forced from their homes to live as refugees.

The frequent failure by warring parties to respect the humanitarian purpose of interventions has shown that the attempt to provide assistance in situations of natural disaster, man-made crisis, slow-onset disaster or conflict can potentially make civilians more vulnerable to attack or killing, or can sometimes provide an unintended advantage to one or more of the warring parties.

We are committed to minimizing the negative effects of our interventions to the extent that this is consistent with the obligations described. It is the duty of warring parties to respect the humanitarian nature of such interventions.

The main goal of such operations is to save lives and alleviate suffering.
